Ride the sugar rush at
Les Deux Magots (Saint Germain): Order Deux-Milles Feuilles patisseries and pouring chocolate. Good for people watching outside in the summer (apparently!) As you might of guessed its arctic in November.
Sleep at boutique hotel
Mama Shelter for kitsch interiors (hotel is designed by
Philippe Starck) and heavenly breakfast (seriously worth the money- you get the full works and can even enjoy it on a beautiful outdoor terrace). We especially loved our room's Batman light fitting, iMac computer (complete with online photo booth), free films, power shower and all the Kiehls mini shower and bathroom goodies...
Be inspired in
Palais De Tokyo- paris' answer to ultra modern art. Conceptual, urban and utterly encapsulating. Especially blown away by
Rachel Monique's exhibit around the death of her mother - the overwhelming derelict space alone was haunting but somehow very serene and beautiful.
Other cool touches: The retro black + white photo booth and mostly the shop- could of spent all day in there- massive mix of directional fashion mags + art books. I was lusting over this '
NOT IN FASHION BOOK' which celebrated much of the 90s grunge/reality photographers- came across these early pics of Kate Moss in The Face- sad reminder of the late Corinne Day.
Wonder around the Pompidou and go to the top for great views of paris. I especially love this image by
Valerie Jouve of this pixie crew cut girl against urban french sky line.
Shop all the beautiful interior accessories and home accents in
Fleux... if only I could fit those illustrative sewn cushions in my case...
